CMV Take 3

Yes or No: If a skirt can be a halter top, can a halter top be also a scarf?

cmv skirt - scarf1

Answer: YES!!!

cmv skirt - scarf
-- skirt: Carmen Marc Valvo (worn as a scarf) -- cami: Anne Klein ---belt: Banana Republic --
-- patent pumps: Chanel --

I'm really getting my money's worth on this skirt that doubles as a top, triples as scarf!!

My week has been great so far! Heaven smiled on me this week, it seems (prayers do work!)
Workwise, blogwise and tenniswise, it's really been great!

Got a new lovely award from the super funny, witty and classy,
Ela of Extra Dressing on the Side...

Thanks Ela!
Head over to Ela's witty blog and I guarantee you you'll be laughing your heart out with each of her posts!

...And on the tennis front, I couldn't be any happier!
If you remember, I was at the very bottom when we started our league a few weeks ago (nerves), inched a bit higher last week to no. 8 (persistence), and this week, I'm now no. 5 (luck). It really has nothing to do my skills though. It just helps a bit when some of the good players are a no-show, haha!

But hey, if I end up as no. 1 just for showing up week after week after week (dedication), heck I'll take it!

Hope everyone's having a great week too!

Shadows, X's and Y's

dvf pink1
-- top: Diane von Furstenberg --- pants: Armani Collezioni -- sunnies: Dior -- shoes: Chanel -- watch: Fendi--

Overheard somewhere in Minneapolis.

"Are those pants new?"

Silence for three seconds and gazing up at the ceiling to search for an answer then faintly uttered, "No..."

"Are they expensive?"

Silence for three seconds and again gazing up at the ceiling and even more faintly uttered, "No..."

Conscience kicking in, commandment #9 nagging.

"Not much. It's only $XXX.xx".

Information withheld. It was really $YYY.yy where Y>X.

"WHAT?"

"They're Armani, hello!"

"I wouldn't have known..."

***Characters are fictional. Any resemblance to your marital conversations or mine is purely coincidental***
Wink, wink. Funny thing, the top was new and he didn't notice, haha!

The Sweetest MIL

My mom-in-law is the simply the nicest, sweetest and most thoughtful!

Every year for our birthdays, she always gives us a check to spend on anything we want! This year, I'm not investing it like I normally do. Instead, I'll use it for a healthy dose of VitaMinn style and stimulate the retail economy starting with this...

I spotted it on eBay last week listed at 60% off retail! I contacted Thumbelina right away for a second opinion in terms of authenticity, sizing, etc... Thanks Thumbelina!!

I still have no idea from which season these are from but who cares?! They're a keeper! I mean look at those camellias, nothing can ever be so girly! =)

***

They're brand new and all but the only catch was the box was a bit damaged... but I really didn't mind.

I'm a happy girl!! Thank you Mom!!

Dow & Shopping

badgley mischka
-- halter top: Badgley Mischka -- jeans: Lucky Brand -- burgundy patent pumps: Chanel --

W hen the Dow is up, I shop!

I have the rallying Wall Street to thank for all my shopping this month. Had it not for its bullish performance as of late, le hubz probably won't let me, not even my mere shadow, get close to any mall and smell retail.

I seriously hope that this recession is already behind us!

Just heard on the radio today that here in Minnesota, everything is starting to pick up slowly. Housing sales is up for the first time in a year!
And if shopping behavior is any indication, things are looking great because it's now very HARD to find a parking at the Mall of America on weekends!

Be My Valentino

valentino1
-- Cotton cardigan: Valentino -- Sheath dress: Calvin Klein -- Burgundy patent pumps: Chanel --

I normally won't buy $60 for a cotton cardigan. But if it's a Valentino originally priced at $1,390 and marked down 95% OFF, it's a no brainer, the credit card was out faster than the speed of light!

With the iconic Jackie O as inspiration, I pulled the biggest pearls I had in my jewelry box and voila! But now if only I have a pill box hat, gloves and those oversized Jackie O sunglasses...

Intervention Needed

neiman shopping-2
-- Chanel patent pumps -- Prada Vit. Daino -- Stuart Weitzman black pumps -- Ferragamo Ribes peep toe --
Growing up in a province south of Manila, I never would have thought that Chanel was in my future... and Pradas and Ferragamos and Fendis....

A typical year's worth of shopping is what I spent this month just for one purse and three pairs of shoes. However, I can justify this as a necessary but temporary spending. I am currently rebuilding my closet with items that are classic and practical that I could use for a long, long time. The shopping spree is going to end very soon (or else hubby's going to drag me to a Shopaholic Anonymous meeting for an intervention), so I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
