The challenge continues! This time, I tied the strings into a halter (instead of a knot from the previous posts below.) Just another simple outfit I could wear for casual summer dining.

One Top, Many Ways - Part 2

Here's another outfit idea from yesterday's challenge. It's another summer casual attire but this time, pairing it with cropped jeans and peep toes. I'm even thinking, if I trade the heels for thong sandals, it'll be even more casual and I could wear it running errands. Or, if I wear comfy flats and a shawl or wrap, I could wear this for travel -- on a cruise perhaps to the Caribbean? Wish. Well, at least I'll have a decent travel outfit for when it happens! =)

One Top, Many Ways - Part 1

Last week, my good friend Faye and I checked out the sale at Neiman's and weren't disappointed. She reserved a pair of sandals from the presale while I went home with a few items from the Last Call floor. My fave purchase is this top from Romeo and Juliet Couture!

In keeping up with my summer uniform from the previous post, here's the first look I came up with. I imagine wearing this on a hot Friday night dining al fresco with the hubz.

Summer Uniform

As I was bloghopping earlier today, I landed on Thumbelina's and got an idea of a post to answer this question she asked her readers:

What is your summer uniform?

For me, the formula is: "top + shorts + sandals". It's boring sometimes but it's a no-brainer when the temps are tipping into what can only be described as hot and scorching.

"Scorching hot" is relative though. Funny, here in Minnesota, people consider high 80s already a heat wave. Funnier, in Melbourne, people do not seem to be bothered even when temps are already in the triple digits, pushing me on the verge of a heat stroke. Funniest that I care about the heat at all, growing up in the Philippines where it's hot and humid all year long.

Change in View

For years, we've been waking up to this view every single day...

...And museums, restos and shops like Neimans and Saks used to be just steps away.

Recently, we traded all that for this.



And been waking up to the sound of these.

While the downtown scene is bustling with energy, our new scene is bustling with life -- as evidenced by our new garden full of flowers and trees!

There is no turning back now.
I have officially become a suburbanite... and loving it, to my surprise!

Too Much Pink in One Post

I hope there's no rule anywhere that says you can only wear something pink up to a certain age. If there is, well... yes, it'll find me guilty on so many counts but nope, it won't stop me... I love all things pink! =)

I was at Neiman's last week looking for a Prada bag but got distracted when I spotted these two buttery-soft pairs from the Calzature Donna collection. I was so happy to see them marked down 50% off. Hurray for summer sales!!

So far, I've been quite happy with my Prada shoe purchases. In fact, I prefer it over Chanel, Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik -- these designs cannot seem to accommodate my slightly high-arched feet. And though my arches are quite happy with the Louboutins as well (and actually prefer their design), but the heels are always too high and too thin which sometimes hurt my calves and knees. Gucci wins for me in the comfort department, but their designs do not excite me as much. So as with Ferragamos -- sure it's classic and all but they're unable to convey any shoe emotion from me.

Prada is the best for me -- style-wise and design-wise! They make me and my feet, my arches and my calves quite happy!

...That's for shoes. Now don't get me started on how much I love my very functional and practical Prada calfskin handbag too! :D

**Apologies for the lack of posts lately, the weather has been so unbelievably lovely here the past few weeks and it's distracting me from blogging. You would be too if you're only getting 4 months of summer out the year! :D
